Most seniors today do not have adequate support systems that allows them to remain in the homes as they age.  Oftentimes, as a parent ages and become what is known as medically fragile, their children are faced with the responsibility of having to take care of mom or dad. This isn’t an easy task as many are what’s known as the Sandwich Generation, those individuals that are torn between raising their own families, often working full-time jobs, and having the worry of trying to care for aging parent(s).

SENIOR SERVICES RALEIGH – WAKE COUNTY

For most seniors, if there is a choice between aging in place-in their homes, a familiar environment or being placed in an Assisted Living Facility, or nursing home; the clear winner is home.  Scientific studies have proven that people do best and heal better at home. One way of keeping seniors in their homes as long as possible is by providing additional support to seniors. While we can’t stop the aging process, we can make it better by providing necessary and critical services that will allow individuals to remain in their homes.   Services such as companion care; personal care; chore provider type services; meal preparation; medication reminders; running errands; and making sure seniors get back and forth to their doctors’ appointments are considered non-medical care. While non-medical in nature, these services are key elements in keeping individuals in their homes as long as possible and out of hospitals and nursing homes.
